Oldham Athletic have continued their summer rebuilding with the signing of Dutch midfielder Sidney Schmeltz on a two-year contract.
The 24-year-old, who was released from his contract with SC Veenam in March, has previously played for Willem II and Sparta Rotterdam.
"Sidney is the perfect character and just the sort of player we are after," Oldham boss Lee Johnson told the club's official website.
"He is quick, exciting, skilful and hungry to learn the English game. It is our job as coaches to teach him that."
Schmeltz had reportedly been interesting a number of Football League clubs.
