Porto moved a step closer to securing top spot in Champions League Group H with an impressive second half that saw them come out on top 3-0 against BATE Borisov in Belarus.

The Portuguese side barely threatened in the opening period but improved drastically after half time, with Hector Herrera, Jackson Martinez and Cristian Tello scoring the goals.

Here, Sports Mole hands out ratings out of 10 for those that took to the field on a freezing cold night at the Borisov Arena.

Goal

Sergey Chernik: Wasn't tested once in the first half but could do little about the three he let in. Might be a little annoyed that Herrera's vicious hit swerved past him. (6/10)

Defence

Edgar Olekhnovich: Offered very little going forward and was booked for cynically taking out Martinez. (5/10)

Vitalius Gayduchik: Made some key first-half interceptions to stop Porto creating any chances. Booked for a nasty tackle on Quaresma. (7/10)

Nemanja Tubic: Solid enough, but defensive shortcomings showed after the break. (6/10)

Filip Mladenovic: Came off in the 72nd minute after barely seeing any of the ball out on the left. Let Martinez get away from him too easily for the second. (5/10)

Midfield

Aliaksandr Volodko: The brightest of the home side's midfield. He got forward when he could but often lacked a decent final ball. (6/10)

Evgeni Yablonski: The third BATE player to be booked. Good in the air. Shot well wide with his only sight of goal. (5/10)

Mikhail Gordeychuk: A couple of bright moments, most notably in the second half when he burst forward from the centre circle. (6/10)

Aleksandr Karnitski: Struggled to link up with the striker as Porto's midfield overran him. Came off midway through the second half. (5/10)

Maksim Volodko: Barely noticeable and often wasteful in possession. (4/10)

Attack

Vitali Rodionov: Came off with 15 minutes left after causing the Porto defence very few problems. (5/10)

Substitutes

Dmitri Baga: Replaced Karnitski but didn't have any more of an impact (6/10)

Ilya Aleksievich: Replaced Mladenovic at left-back and allowed Tello to get in behind him for the third. (5/10)

Nikolai Signevich: Took Rodionov's place but by then the game was up. (6/10)

Goal

Fabiano: Had to be alert in the first half, but in the end didn't face a single shot on target. (6/10)

Defence

Danilo: Always willing to get forward and support in attack. (7/10)

Bruno Martins Indi: Solid when called upon. (6/10)

Marcano: Not often troubled. Booked early on for a rash challenge on Rodionov. (6/10)

Alex Sandro: Not as bright as Danilo on the other side, but no mistakes. (6/10)

Midfield

Hector Herrera: Like the rest of his teammates, awfully quiet in the first half but the star of the show in the second 45. His goal was a fabulous strike and he followed it up with a neat layoff and perfectly-weighted through-ball for the other two. (8/10)

Casemiro: Barely put a foot wrong and teed up Herrera for the stunning opener. (7/10)

Attack

Ricardo Quaresma: Saw quite a bit of the ball but disappointed with some terrible crossing. Taken off with 20 left. (5/10)

Jackson Martinez: Lovely finish for the goal after a fairly indifferent start. Now has five European goals in five games this season. Taken off in the last minute. (7/10)

Yacine Brahimi: Scored a hat-trick against BATE on matchday one but didn't enjoy the same success today. Gave the ball away multiple times in the first half but improved after the break as he got more space. Came off with about 10 to go. (6/10)

Substitutes

Cristian Tello: Replaced Quaresma and scored with a tidy finish. (7/10)

Adrian: Came on for Brahimi but the urgency of the game had long gone. (6/10)

Juan Quintero: Just had injury time to impact the game and it was already over. (6/10)
