West Ham United are considering an offer for Portsmouth defender Tal Ben Haim, according to reports.

The Daily Star understands that the Hammers will make an offer to revive Ben Haim's career, with Portsmouth desperate to sell the Israeli to ease their financial woes.

The 30-year-old former Chelsea and Bolton Wanderers defender has considerable Premier League experience and could add valuable depth to United's squad.

The Hammers have already signed centre-back James Collins from Aston Villa as manager Sam Allardyce prepares for the club's return to the Premier League.
