PSG star Marco Verratti: 'We've proven against Chelsea we're a great team'

Marco Verratti believes that Paris Saint-Germain have shown that they are a "great team" by knocking Chelsea out of the Champions League.

Paris Saint-Germain star Marco Verratti believes that he and his teammates have proven their greatness after knocking Chelsea out of the Champions League on Wednesday night.

The Ligue 1 giants played with 10 men from the 31st-minute mark at Stamford Bridge after Zlatan Ibrahimovic was controversially sent off for a challenge on Oscar in the first half.

The Blues led twice, but PSG fought back to seal a 3-3 draw on aggregate, which put them through to the quarter-finals on away goals.

"We played almost all this game with ten men on the pitch against a great team, but we have proven we're one too," Verratti told Canal +.

"It was an incredible game. We knew that Chelsea were a great team, but so are we. We knew we could win this match. We have shown at Stamford Bridge that we are a great team.

"It was only a round-of-16 game and we still have a long way to go, but to have made it to the quarter-finals again is amazing."

The quarter-final draw will take place in Nyon on March 20.
