Half-Time Report: Paris Saint-Germain ahead against 10-man Nice

Edinson Cavani and Zlatan Ibrahimovic score in the first half to give Paris Saint-Germain a 2-0 lead over Nice in Ligue 1.

Paris Saint-Germain have headed into half time with a 2-0 lead over 10-man Nice in their Ligue 1 match at Allianz Riviera.

The home side were on the attack in the early stages of the match as Valere Germain played the ball forward for Hatem Ben Arfa, but his drive from just outside the box was wide of the target.

It did not take Zlatan Ibrahimovic long to force the first save of the night from Yoann Cardinale in the Nice goal though, as the Swedish striker unleashed a rasping shot from long range, but the keeper parried it clear.

PSG started to dictate the play, with Serge Aurier and a further effort from Ibrahimovic both missing the target, while the latter also missed an opportunity when he drifted offside while trying to control a through-ball from Benjamin Stambouli.

Nice began to show more intent as half time approached though, with Ben Arfa playing the ball over the top to Jean Seri, only for the midfielder to see his curling effort saved, while Ben Arfa fired wide himself moments later.

The visitors broke the deadlock shortly after as Ibrahimovic flicked the ball on for Edinson Cavani, setting the Uruguay international up for a simple tap-in from a couple of yards out.

Things got worse for the hosts before the break though as Niklas Hult shoved Ibrahimovic in the box, earning himself a red card as he was the last man, while leaving the striker to double PSG's lead from the penalty spot.
