Half-Time Report: Paris Saint-Germain in control against Gazelec Ajaccio

Blaise Matuidi and Thiago Silva give Paris Saint-Germain a two-goal half-time lead against Gazelec Ajaccio.

Paris Saint-Germain are on course to maintain their perfect start to the Ligue 1 season after racing into a 2-0 lead against Gazelec Ajaccio.

Les Rouges et Bleu showed their intent early on as Lucas Moura was inches away from giving the hosts the lead with a shot from the edge of the box.

PSG took the lead on 11 minutes when Blaise Matuidi raced into space on the left side of the Gazelec area before unleashing a fierce shot that Clement Maury was unable to get near.

Moments later, the Corsicans had a chance to get back on level terms when Gregory Pujol headed wide from Damian Djokovic's cross.

However, Les Parisiens doubled their advantage midway through the half as Thiago Silva rose highest to nod home Thiago Motta's corner from close range.

The hosts could have added a third on 32 minutes when Maxwell's cross was met by Jean-Kevin Augustin, but the teenager's effort was wide of Maury's right-hand post.

With half time approaching, David Luiz tried his luck with a free kick from distance, which the Gazelec keeper managed to collect comfortably.
