Claudio Ranieri: 'Monaco are rightful Ligue 1 champions'

Monaco coach Claudio Ranieri says his side are "rightful champions" after Paris Saint-Germain were given a £20m fine for breaching UEFA's Financial Fair Play rules.

Monaco coach Claudio Ranieri has said that his side are the "rightful champions", after Paris Saint-Germain were found to have breached Financial Fair Play rules.

Laurent Blanc's side were given a £20m fine on Wednesday for breaching UEFA's FFP rules.

Ranieri told Calcio News 24: "The rules should always be respected. UEFA have just clearly said that PSG have won without abiding by Financial Fair Play. Therefore, we are the rightful champions, having respected the rules imposed at the start of the season."

PSG sealed the Ligue 1 title on Wednesday despite suffering a 2-1 defeat to Rennes.
