Leonardo: 'Paris Saint-Germain will not beg Kylian Mbappe, Neymar to stay'

Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo admits that the club will not beg Kylian Mbappe and Neymar to stay at the club and extend their current contracts.

Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo has admitted that the French champions will not beg star players Kylian Mbappe and Neymar to stay at the club and extend their current contracts.

The duo, who are widely considered to be two of the world's best players, are out of contract at the end of the 2021-22 season and are yet to commit their futures to the Ligue 1 side.

Despite that, Leonardo is hopeful that they are both happy in the French capital and will extend their contracts soon.

"I hope that they are convinced that PSG is a good place for a high level and ambitious player," Leonardo told France Football.

"We just need to find an agreement between their desires, their demands, our expectations and our means. We are not going to beg: 'Please, stay.' It is more calculated than that.

"Those who really want to stay will stay. We speak regularly and I have good feelings on both of those matters."

Mbappe, 22, and Neymar, 28, have contributed to a combined 37 goals in 36 appearances in all competitions this campaign.
