Mark Hughes: Anton Ferdinand focused after "traumatic" trial

Queens Park Rangers manager Mark Hughes says that Anton Ferdinand is fully focused on pre-season training with the club following John Terry's acquittal of racially abusing the defender.

Queens Park Rangers manager Mark Hughes has claimed that defender Anton Ferdinand has thrown himself into pre-season training following the "traumatic" racism trial last week.

The centre-back last week gave evidence at Westminster Magistrates' Court, where Chelsea captain John Terry was found not guilty of racially abusing the QPR player during a West London derby at Loftus Road last October.

"Anton gave his side of what happened in court and it was certainly a traumatic experience for him," said Hughes. "So far he has reacted well and is committed to the Asian tour, where we have three friendly matches to play."

The 27-year-old is currently in Malaysia with his teammates as they prepare for the new Premier League season.
