Jamie Mackie is excited by the quality of the summer arrivals at Queens Park Rangers, but insists that he is not worried for his place in the side.

Jamie Mackie has said that he is not worried by the fierce competition for places at Queens Park Rangers and instead thinks that the new arrivals at Loftus Road will help the Hoops become an established Premier League side.

Manager Mark Hughes has already brought in experienced names such as Robert Green, Ryan Nelsen and Andrew Johnson.

The Welshman has also added some quality to his squad in the shape of Samba Diakate, Fabio Da Silva and Park Ji Sung.

"I hope more and more come in because it will make us a better Premier League outfit," the 26-year-old told the club's official website.

"I don't really see the new arrivals as a direct challenge for my place in the team. I do what I do, and the manager picks me accordingly when he feels he needs me.

"I want to play as many games as possible and I'm ready and raring to go. When new players come in with great quality, it's only a good thing for the club."

Mackie made 36 appearances for Rangers last season, scoring eight goals.
