Former Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish backs QPR's January transfer dealings.

Kenny Dalglish believes that the January spending spree by Queens Park Rangers will be money well spent if they remain in the Premier League.

QPR spent over £20m in the transfer window in an attempt to stave off relegation and former Liverpool manager Dalglish says that the outlay will be justified if the club beat the drop.

"If Aston Villa go down and QPR stay up, then the money Rangers spent in January will look like financial prudence," Dalglish said in his column in The Mirror.

"The transfer fees they spent on Loic Remy and Christopher Samba will be more than offset by the television revenue and prize money they will reap from another season in the Premier League.

"They have been told they have taken a huge gamble on avoiding relegation and that, if it doesn't work, they will be in trouble. Well, they have taken a gamble and if it pays off, no one will be criticising QPR owner Tony Fernandes then."

Harry Redknapp's side drew 0-0 with Norwich City on Saturday.
