Glasgow Rangers have agreed a fee with Palermo for central defender Dorin Goian.
The Romanian international has flown into Glasgow for talks and could be signed in time for the Gers' UEFA Champions League qualifier with Malmo tomorrow.
Both parties are close to agreeing terms and manager Ally McCoist has said that he's delighted with the signing.
"We are hopeful that Dorin will officially become a Rangers player in a few hours," McCoist told the club's website.
"We have agreed a fee and personal terms are just about agreed. We are awaiting a work permit and I feel he ticks all the boxes in terms of the application.
"He is a very experienced centre-back, he is strong and aggressive and obviously very tall."
Goian has spent two seasons in Serie A with Palermo.
