Nigel Adkins: 'We must control the ball better'

Reading manager Nigel Adkins acknowledges that his side must improve their play on the ball if they are to turn draws into victories.

Nigel Adkins has admitted that Reading must continue to improve after seeing his side record a 3-3 draw at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Royals edged ahead on 17 minutes at the Madejski Stadium this afternoon, but a thrilling second half saw both sides relinquish the lead, eventually settling for a point apiece.

"We are going to score goals, but we have to have better control of the football," Adkins told Sky Sports News. "We have players coming back like Danny Guthrie, and it was important for him today.

"We played against a good side in Wolves. Give them a lot of credit. There is a very positive mood around the club, Hope Akpan has just been called up to the Nigeria team. And I thought it was a good game of football."

Reading move up to 11th place in the Championship table following the draw.
