Preview: Reading vs. Charlton Athletic

Sports Mole looks ahead to the Championship match on Tuesday night between Reading and Charlton Athletic.

Reading will be looking to cement their place in the Championship's top six by defeating Charlton Athletic on Tuesday night.

The Royals moved into the playoff places by edging out Nottingham Forest 3-2 on Friday night.

Manager Nigel Adkins won't be able to start the same side again as Chris Gunter was sent off for two bookings at the City Ground, with Shaun Cummings likely to come in at right-back.

Visitors Charlton have lost three of their last four and go into tomorrow night's match on the back of a 1-0 home defeat to Ipswich Town.

Despite the loss, boss Chris Powell is likely to start the same XI. First-choice goalkeeper Ben Hamer may return from a knee injury, but if he is not fit, then Ben Alnwick will continue between the sticks.

It is five years since these two were in the same division and that term there were 10 goals in the two games.
