Reading holding Mohamed Sissoko talks

Free agent Mohamed Sissoko is in the process of discussing a move to Championship side Reading.

Reading have confirmed that they have held discussions to sign former Liverpool midfielder Mohamed Sissoko.

The 28-year-old is able sign for a club outside of the transfer window because he is a free agent following his release from Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain earlier this summer.

"On deadline day and this morning the Royals held talks with vastly experienced midfielder Momo Sissoko, and talks with him may continue in the future as he is out of contract," read a statement on the club's official website.

The Mali international signed for Liverpool from Valencia in 2005 and was part of the squad that won the FA Cup at the expense of West Ham United a year later.
