Carlo Ancelotti: "Gareth Bale played better"

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti refuses to put the blame on Gareth Bale for his team's elimination in the semi-finals of the Champions League.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has leapt to the defence of Gareth Bale following his side's elimination in the semi-finals of the Champions League.

Bale missed a number of chances on Wednesday as Real Madrid drew 1-1 with Juventus in the second leg of their last-four clash, which saw the hosts eliminated 3-2 on aggregate.

However, Ancelotti believes that Bale "played better" in Madrid and has claimed that the tie was lost in the first leg.

"We lost the game in the first leg. Tonight we played at our best, we were unlucky we had lots of opportunities but we were unlucky. I thought Gareth Bale played better, he worked hard as did the team. We did our best," Ancelotti told Sky Sports News.

Ancelotti has also admitted that he 'does not know' if he will be at the club next season.
