Real Madrid star Gareth Bale ruled out of Villarreal match

Real Madrid star Gareth Bale is ruled out of Wednesday's La Liga match against Villarreal with a muscle injury.

Real Madrid star Gareth Bale has been ruled out of Wednesday's La Liga clash against Villarreal at the Bernabeu due to a muscle injury.

The Wales international did not take part in full training this morning as he was restricted to just gym work.

It was reported by Marca that Bale's injury is just "minor", and head coach Zinedine Zidane suggested the same when he told reporters: "He will miss tomorrow's game but hopefully he will be back for the next game."

When asked for the specific nature of the attacker's injury, Zidane said: "I'm not part of the medical team."

Bale recently returned to action following a spell on the sidelines with a calf injury.
