Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas insists that he accepts coach Jose Mourinho's decision to drop him for Saturday's defeat to Malaga.

Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas has insisted that he accepts coach Jose Mourinho's decision to drop him for Saturday's defeat to Malaga in La Liga.

The Spaniard was left out for the Madrid starting lineup for the first time in 10 years as Antonio Adan was preferred in goal.

Despite the snub, the club captain has claimed that he will work hard to regain the trust of Mourinho.

"The coach decides who plays," the 31-year-old told Spanish television channel La Sexta. "I have to keep training more with this healthy competition with Adan.

"Mourinho didn't say anything to me, he didn't explain anything. He doesn't give me explanations for when I do play, so then, neither when I don't.

"We must abide by the decision of the coach and I must train a lot more to try to regain his confidence."

Madrid's 3-2 loss on Saturday night has left the champions 16 points behind leaders Barcelona in the table.
