Filipe Luis responds to Carlo Ancelotti criticism

Atletico Madrid left-back Filipe Luis insists that his side "played with intensity, not violence" in Sunday's 2-2 draw with Real Madrid.

Atletico Madrid left-back Filipe Luis has responded to criticism from Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti that the home side made Sunday's Madrid derby "a violent match".

Ancelotti launched the attack following the 2-2 draw at the Vicente Calderon, but Luis has insisted that his side "played with intensity, not violence".

"No spaces for the opponent and pressing on the flanks,"he told reporters at a press conference. "We never lost that intensity, it is our identity."

The result left Atletico third in La Liga, three points behind Real Madrid.
