Adel Taarabt and Michael Essien both start for AC Milan in the Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid in the San Siro.

AC Milan head coach Clarence Seedorf has handed starts to Adel Taarabt and Michael Essien for the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie against Atletico Madrid.

Kaka captains the hosts at the San Siro and will provide support alongside Taarabt for Mario Balotelli, who leads the line for Milan.

Atletico manager Diego Simeone leaves David Villa on the bench, while Filipe Luis misses the game due to a groin injury.

Emiliano Insua and Mario Suarez come into the team for the game in the Italian capital.
