Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho believes that Cristiano Ronaldo deserves to win the Ballon d'Or this year.
The Portuguese attacker has lost out on the award to Barcelona's Lionel Messi over the last three years.
Argentine international Messi also scored more goals than Ronaldo in La Liga this season.
However, Mourinho has claimed that it is time Ronaldo's ability is recognised.
"He hasn't been able to win the Pichichi," Mourinho told Portuguese television. "I believe he should be compensated with the Ballon d'Or."
Despite losing out to Messi, Ronaldo still scored 46 league goals.
