Highly-rated Norwegian starlet Martin Odegaard has revealed that he chose to join Real Madrid because they give him the "best possibility to develop as a player".
The 16-year-old attacking midfielder seemed to be wanted by numerous clubs after he visited Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal and Manchester City.
However, it was the Spanish giants who prevailed as they secured his signature on a six-year contract from Stromsgodset.
"It's a dream come true," Odegaard told Real Madrid TV. "It's incredible. It's an honour to join the best club in the world.
"I don't feel the pressure but it's different to play for Real Madrid than for Stromsgodset. I will try and enjoy this dream as much as possible.
"My reason is that this move gives me the best possibility to develop as a player and it offers me the best conditions in my personal life."
Despite only turning 16 last month, Odegaard, who will reportedly be paid £80,000 a week, already has three Norway caps to his name.
