Xavi's teammate Lionel Messi and Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo have shared the award in recent years, but Pizzi believes that Xavi should have been recognised in the same manner.
"That Xavi doesn't have a Golden Ball at home is an injustice," he told reporters.
Xavi has been widely linked with a move away from the Camp Nou at the end of the season.
