Sergio Ramos responds to Rafael Benitez comments

Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos says that "everyone makes mistakes" amid criticism from head coach Rafael Benitez about the penalty he conceded in the Madrid derby.

Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos has insisted that he is "neither worried nor upset by the penalty" that he conceded during Sunday's Madrid derby against Atletico Madrid.

Los Blancos boss Rafael Benitez said during a recent interview that he was "angered" by the penalty, but Ramos has said that the throwing away of two points should be higher on the discussion list.

"I guess the coach will say what he has to say when he sees me. I'm neither worried nor upset by the penalty. Everyone makes mistakes and no one does it on purpose. Keylor [Navas] made a great save after and the mistake had nothing to do with the result," AS quotes Ramos as saying.

"We all learn from our mistakes, players and coaches. I've learned from mistakes I've made throughout my career and it's not the same for Sergio Ramos or Cristiano Ronaldo. We have more impact.

"It was a child-like error and there's no getting around it. Keylor ended up making the save and I'm not losing sleep about it. What's disrupting my sleep is that we didn't get the three points that would have made us league leaders."

Ramos had been due to represent Spain in their upcoming Euro 2016 qualifiers against Luxembourg and Ukraine, but was forced to withdraw with a shoulder injury.
