Sergio Ramos suffers calf injury in Real Madrid win

Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos suffers a calf injury in his side's 5-0 win over Athletic Bilbao on Sunday.

Real Madrid centre-back Sergio Ramos suffered a calf injury in his side's 5-0 win over Athletic Bilbao at the Bernabeu on Sunday evening.

The defender was replaced at the interval of the La Liga clash by Raphael Varane in a move that was initially thought to have been made to hand Varane some much-needed minutes.

However, it has been announced that the Spaniard suffered an injury to his right leg in the first half of the contest and will undergo extensive tests this afternoon to determine the extent of the damage.

As a result, Ramos is expected to miss Spain's upcoming Euro 2016 qualifiers against Slovakia and Luxembourg.
