Steve McClaren is to be dismissed by Derby County following his failure to lead the Rams into the Championship playoffs, according to a report.
The former England manager saw his side suffer a collapse in the latter stages of the season to finish the campaign in eighth place.
According to The Telegraph, McClaren will leave the iPro outfit following a meeting with chief executive Sam Rush and incoming chairman Mel Morris, with Real Madrid coach Paul Clement reportedly lined up to replace him.
Derby came close to reaching the Premier League through the playoffs last season, but were undone by a late Bobby Zamora strike in the final as Queens Park Rangers secured a 1-0 win and reached the top tier at the Rams' expense.
