Zinedine Zidane reportedly informs Real Madrid that he is not interested in a return to the club, leaving the door open for a move to Juventus.

Real Madrid have reportedly failed in their attempt to persuade Zinedine Zidane to return to the Bernabeu for a second spell in charge.

Los Blancos are believed to have turned to the Frenchman last week on the back of their Champions League exit at the hands of Ajax.

Santiago Solari remains at the helm for the time being, but he is living on borrowed time and will be dislodged as soon as a replacement is found.

El Pais suggests that Zidane will not be returning to the Spanish capital, however, as he has an eye on the Juventus job, which is expected to become vacant at the end of the season.

The report indicates that Real president Florentino Perez asked a club employee to contact the 46-year-old, but his response was negative, likely because he left the club last summer on bad terms with Perez.

Juve are also keen to appoint Zidane, with plans already in place to bring in a successor for Massimiliano Allegri, who has hinted that he may move on in a couple of months' time.
