Preview: Almeria vs. Real Madrid

Sports Mole gazes forward to Friday night's La Liga game as on-fire Real Madrid face Almeria before their trip to Morocco for the Club World Cup.

La Liga pacesetters Real Madrid can extend their Spanish-record winning streak to 20 games if they beat Almeria in Friday night's match at the Estadio de los Juegos Mediterraneos.

Carlo Ancelotti's men have been flying recently and on Wednesday beat Bulgarian side Ludogorets Razgrad to become the only team to win all six group games in this year's Champions League.

Friday's game is their last before they travel to Morocco for the Club World Cup, with their semi-final against either Mexico's Cruz Azul or Western Sydney Wanderers of Australia's A-League taking place on Tuesday.

They have been deadly going forward of late, scoring two or more goals in each of their last 11 league games and averaging more than four a game during this run.

Their recent record against Almeria doesn't give the hosts much of a chance either - Madrid have scored 17 and conceded just one in the last three victories over the Andalusian outfit (4-0, 5-0 and 8-1).

Almeria are one of four teams level on 10 points at the foot of La Liga and they hover just outside the drop zone because of their superior goal difference.

They are eight league games without a win, losing six, and are yet to win at home in the league this season - the last time that happened by this stage of the season they were relegated in 2010-11.
