Report: Juventus hope for Real Madrid transfer ban in bid to keep Alvaro Morata

Juventus hope that a FIFA-imposed transfer ban for Real Madrid will halt the potential departure of Alvaro Morata, reports in Italy claim.

Juventus are hoping that a potential FIFA-imposed transfer ban for Real Madrid will halt the potential departure of Alvaro Morata, according to reports in Italy.

There is a chance that Real could be suspended from buying any players for two transfer windows due to irregularities in the signings of under-age players, meaning the club would not be able to make use of its buy-back clause for Morata.

The 23-year-old signed for Juve for a fee of €20m (£14.1m) last year, but Los Blancos made sure to include a €30m (£21.1m) buy-back option in the deal and are said to have be considering re-signing the Spain international next summer.

Tuttosport claim that Juve are now keeping tabs on the potential sanction as they look to keep Morata, who has scored 18 goals in 62 appearances for the current Serie A champions.

Morata has admitted that he is flattered by Real's reported interest in recent months, but says that he is fully focused on life in Turin.
