Bayern Munich's David Alaba is reportedly Real Madrid's top defensive target should Sergio Ramos fail to commit to a new deal.
Ramos is into the final year of his Madrid contract and has supposedly been offered a lucrative three-year deal by Paris Saint-Germain.
The Spain international is believed to be willing to stay on at the Bernabeu, but only if he is given a two-year extension with a pay rise.
According to AS, Madrid are only prepared to hand Ramos a further 12 months without a salary increase.
The report indicates that Los Blancos are already eyeing up alternative centre-backs, with Bayern's versatile defender Alaba their number one choice.
Alaba is himself involved in high-profile contract talks with his club, having failed to agree an extension to his current terms - due to expire in June - ahead of a deadline set last month.
