Real Madrid confirm that 23-year-old defender Nacho Fernandez has signed a new four-year contract at the Bernabeu.

Real Madrid have confirmed that defender Nacho Fernandez has signed a new four-year contract at the Bernabeu.

The 23-year-old defender has been with Los Blancos for his entire career, having joined them as a schoolboy 12 years ago.

After being promoted to the senior team by former manager Jose Mourinho, Fernandez played 593 minutes of La Liga football last season.

He has represented Spain at various youth levels and was a member of the side that won the European Under-21 Championship last month.
