Report: David Alaba wanted by Barcelona, Real Madrid

A report claims that Barcelona have joined Real Madrid in declaring an interest in Bayern Munich ace David Alaba, with talks planned for later this year.

Arch rivals Barcelona and Real Madrid will go head to head in a battle to sign David Alaba from Bayern Munich, according to a report.

The Austria international, comfortable playing at full-back or in a more advanced central midfield position, has again been a consistent performer for Bayern this term.

Alaba recently emerged as a target for Madrid, who are keen to bolster both at the back and up front in the summer, and Mundo Deportivo claims that Barca are also now in the running to land his signature.

Representatives of Alaba will meet with Barca chiefs in the coming months, it is claimed, with the 25-year-old seen as a reliable option at left-back, but Los Blancos will not give up in their own pursuit.

Barcelona are also said to be eager to sign Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid, while Gremio ace Arthur is a confirmed target.
