Ryan Giggs: 'Bale is happy at Madrid'

Ryan Giggs says that he has 'no concerns' over Gareth Bale's uncertain future at Real Madrid, claiming that the Wales forward is "happy" at his current club.

Wales manager Ryan Giggs has stressed that Gareth Bale is "happy" at Real Madrid and is not angling for a move back to the Premier League.

The 28-year-old is no longer assured of a starting spot for Los Blancos, which boss Zinedine Zidane puts down to managing the forward's high-profile injury problems.

After starting on the bench against Paris Saint-Germain, Real Sociedad and Leganes earlier this month, reports emerged suggesting that Bale is ready to pack up and leave, five years after arriving from Tottenham Hotspur.

New Wales boss Giggs travelled to Madrid to speak face to face with the forward last week, though, and claims that a move away in the summer appears unlikely.

"His future doesn't concern me, he's at a brilliant club," Sky Sports News quotes him as saying. "When you're at a top club, as I know, you're constantly under scrutiny. I went to see him and he was happy.

"He wasn't happy he didn't start, but the next few games he started. He's fit and looking really good. He made an impact when he came on against PSG. Everyone in Wales knows how important Gareth is. A fit and well Gareth Bale makes such a difference."

Bale has been used from the off in Madrid's last two games - a 4-0 win over Alaves and 1-0 defeat to Espanyol.
