Real Sociedad have edged past Malaga with a 1-0 win away from home in La Liga this evening.

The visitors took the lead after the first 10 minutes, as Carlos Vela tucked home a left-footed shot from the centre of the box having been picked out by Jose Angel.

Oleksandr Iakovenko sent in a teasing corner for Malaga, but Ignacio Camacho headed his effort just wide of the left post.

Roque Santa Cruz was wasteful in the second half as the hosts went in search of an equaliser, but the striker headed straight at the goalkeeper, following an inch-perfect cross from Nourredine Amrabat.

Antoine Griezmann had the chance to calm Sociedad's nerves, but he shot high and wide after latching on to a through-ball just inside the box. However, the visitors hung on to claim three points away from home.
