Republic of Ireland boss Giovanni Trapattoni names his squad for Euro 2012 this summer.

Republic of Ireland boss Giovanni Trapattoni has named his squad for Euro 2012 this summer.

Sunderland winger James McClean has been included in the 23-man party, but there is no place for Wigan Athletic midfielder James McCarthy following his father's health problems.

Norwich City midfielder Wes Hoolahan is also a surprise omission, while Everton's Seamus Coleman has been named only on standby.

Republic of Ireland's squad:

Goalkeepers: Shay Given (Aston Villa), Kieran Westwood (Sunderland), David Forde (Millwall).
