Crawley Town move to the top of League Two with a 2-1 victory over Shrewsbury Town, while AFC Wimbledon slip to defeat at home to Crewe.

Crawley Town returned to the top of League Two with a 2-1 victory over Shrewsbury Town this afternoon.

Goals from Sergio Torres and Dean Howell put hosting Crawley in control before the break, and despite Mark Wright finding the net for Shrews after the break, his goal proved to be little more than a mere consolation.

The Sussex-based side were able to move to the summit thanks to Southend United's failure to defeat ten-man Morecambe at Roots Hall. It proved to be a case of hero to zero for Morecambe striker Phil Jevons, who opened the scoring before receiving his marching orders.

The home side capitalised on their numerical advantage and equalised courtesy of an own goal from Stewart Drummond.

AFC Wimbledon failed to make home advantage count against Crewe, slumping to a 3-1 defeat.

Dons striker Christian Jolley cancelled out an opener from Crewe's Nick Powell, before Adam Dugdale and Ajay Leitch-Smith sealed victory for the away side.

A stoppage time penalty from Simon Walton saw bottom-of-the-table Plymouth Argyle claim all three points away at Dagenham & Redbridge.

Quick-fire goals from Conor Hourihane and Matt Lecointe put visiting Argyle in front, only for that lead to be pegged back by Scott Doe and Jon Nurse.

Daggers defender Damien McCrory was sent off late in the game for a professional foul and Walton stepped up to convert the resultant spot-kick.

League Two results: Accrington 0-2 Swindon; AFC Wimbledon 1-3 Crewe; Barnet 2-1 Aldershot; Crawley 2-1 Shrewsbury; Dag & Red 2-3 Plymouth; Hereford 2-0 Bradford; Macclesfield 1-1 Oxford; Southend 1-1 Morecambe; Torquay 2-5 Gillingham.
