Roma forward Francesco Totti has admitted that he still has the motivation to carry on playing at the age of 36.
Totti's contract at the Italian club runs out in the summer of 2014 and he is keen to renew his deal when club president James Pallotta visits Rome next week.
"I hope [to renew my contract]," Gazzetta dello Sport quotes Totti as saying. "Next week president Pallotta will be in Rome and I'll talk to him about it in person. I'm happy that the club still have a lot of faith in me.
"All I hope for now is that I remain injury free and carry on the way I've been playing recently. However, let's not forget that, in one year's time, I'll be out of contract."
Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon recently wrote an open letter to Totti for the 20th anniversary of the striker's Serie A debut.
