Roma 'working to increase Kostas Manolas buy-out price'

Roma are working to increase the release clause of Kostas Manolas from £31.5m to £43.7m, according to a report.

Roma are reportedly working to increase the release clause of Kostas Manolas from £31.5m to £43.7m with the view to selling the centre-back in this summer's transfer window.

Manolas, 27, has been with Roma for the last four years, making close to 200 appearances for the Italian giants in all competitions.

Arsenal and Manchester United have both previously been linked with the defender, while Juventus and Bayern Munich are also believed to have a long-standing interest.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Roma have accepted that the Greek is likely to move on this summer, but they are determined to receive the highest possible price.

As a result, the report has claimed that the Italian giants are attempting to increase the release clause in his current contract - which runs until 2022 - from £31.5m to £43.7m.

Manolas has scored twice in 26 appearances for Roma this season.
