Christophe Galtier says that he wants to sign a new deal at Saint-Etienne before his current contract expires.

Saint-Etienne coach Christophe Galtier is hopeful that he will remain at the club beyond the end of next season.

The 46-year-old's current deal at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard expires at the conclusion of the 2013-14 campaign.

Galtier, who recently won the Coupe de la Ligue with the club and made them from relegation candidates to Champions League contenders during his time, is hoping that he will stay at Saint-Etienne for a number of years to come.

"We'll see where we stand, and what the objectives are that the club set," Galtier told RMC.

"I feel very good at Saint-Etienne. The team is improving season-upon-season and so am I.

"We have a European competition to play. I hope we can build a competitive team and the first thing to do will be to keep our good players. But there will automatically be someone leaving."

Sixth-placed Saint-Etienne are currently four points off third but just a point adrift of fourth.
