Samuel Eto'o wants Saint-Etienne forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to join him at Anzhi Makhachkala.

Samuel Eto'o has reportedly urged Saint-Etienne striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to join him at Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala.

The 23-year-old is believed to be on the radar of clubs across the continent after netting 19 goals for Les Verts this season, helping them to finish fourth in Ligue 1.

Newcastle United and Roma have long been credited with an interest, but talkSPORT reports that Eto'o has personally contacted the Gabon international in order to tempt him to Eastern Europe.

Aubameyang joined Saint-Etienne from AC Milan after an initial loan spell in 2011.
