Sunday's Eredivisie predictions including AZ vs. Ajax

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Eredivisie fixtures, including AZ vs. Ajax.

Excelsior vs. Vitesse (Sunday, 11.15am)

Aiming to avoid a fourth straight defeat, SBV Excelsior entertain the challenge of Vitesse at Van Donge & De Roo Stadion on Sunday afternoon.

Meanwhile, the away side make the journey to Rotterdam this weekend in search of what would be only a first victory in seven matches across all competitions.

We say: SBV Excelsior 1-0 Vitesse

Vitesse have been poor on both ends of the pitch all-season long and it is hard to see them coming away with a positive result here. We are backing Excelsior to get the job done at the end of the 90 minutes.

Almere City vs. Feyenoord (Sunday, 1.30pm)

Looking to keep up with the unrelenting pace of league leaders PSV Eindhoven, Feyenoord will be searching for a win as they face Almere City at Yanmar Stadion on Sunday afternoon in Eredivisie.

De Zwarte Schapen were narrow victors at PEC Zwolle during their last fixture, whilst suffered heartbreak on the continent against Serie A side Roma.

We say: Almere City 1-3 Feyenoord

The visit of Feyenoord will certainly be one of the highlights of Almere's season as they experience the Eredivisie for first time, however we are not expecting a successful afternoon for the hosts.

The Pride of the South need to pick themselves up following penalty heartbreak in Rome on Thursday, and we believe that they will be able to earn a win this weekend.

FC Twente vs. Go Ahead Eagles (Sunday, 1.30pm)

FC Twente will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing defeat last time out when they welcome Go Ahead Eagles to De Grolsch Veste on Sunday.

The away side, on the other hand, are unbeaten in five matches on the bounce and head to Enschede this weekend with the wind in their sails.

We say: FC Twente 2-1 Go Ahead Eagles

Both sides have good reason to believe they can come away with all three points here but we are backing Twente to carry the day come the end of the 90 minutes in what should be an open and end-to-end affair.

AZ vs. Ajax (Sunday, 3.45pm)

AZ Alkmaar and Ajax square off on Sunday in a fixture that could prove decisive with regards to European qualification.

The current fourth and fifth-placed teams are separated by just three points in the Eredivisie standings at a time when either side dropping down to sixth is not out of the question.

We say: AZ Alkmaar 1-3 Ajax

While AZ have the benefit of having a week of preparation for this game, Ajax are on a high after their Europa Conference League exploits. With that in mind, we are backing the visitors to put in another improved performance to earn a second crucial win in the context of their season in quick succession.

Volendam vs. Heerenveen (Sunday, 7.00pm)

Looking to provide a significant boost to their chances of avoiding relegation this season, FC Volendam will welcome Heerenveen to Kras Stadion on Sunday night for an Eredivisie clash.

De Palingboeren earned a point against fellow strugglers Vitesse last time out, whilst De Superfriezen lost on home soil to Go Ahead Eagles.

We say: FC Volendam 1-3 Heerenveen

Volendam have conceded 10 goals during their last three Eredivisie matches, so Heerenveen will be looking to take advantage of any defensive frailties from the hosts.

De Superfriezen have been competitive in recent matches against the likes of Ajax and AZ Alkmaar, so the visitors should be confident of taking maximum points on Sunday.
