Roberto Di Matteo: 'Julian Draxler injury a real blow'

Schalke boss Roberto Di Matteo reveals that Julian Draxler's injury is "a real blow", after the playmaker limped off after 10 seconds in the Bundesliga clash against Augsburg.

Schalke 04 manager Roberto Di Matteo has reacted to Julian Draxler's hamstring injury, describing it as "a real blow".

Draxler limped off just 10 seconds into Schalke's match with Augsburg, as the 21-year-old struggled with the injury he picked up while playing for Germany early in September.

"Losing Julian Draxler extends our injury list even further. It's a real blow," Di Matteo revealed, according to Goal.com.

"We're still waiting on a more concrete diagnosis.

"We can still improve our playing style but you can't forget that we're missing nine players at the moment. We have to deal with that first of all."

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar scored the game's only goal in the win over Augsburg, pushing Schalke up to seventh in the table, seven points behind leaders Bayern Munich.
