Craig Leveins says that he will not resign as manager of Scotland.

Craig Levein has refused to give up on his Scotland job despite seeing his side pick up just two points from their first four games.

Goals by Christian Benteke and Vincent Kompany condemned Scotland to a second successive defeat in Group A.

Reports have suggested that Levein's head could be on the chopping block, but the 47-year-old has vowed to continue.

"I want to stay on as manager; the rest isn't up to me," said Levein. "I'll continue to do the job to the best of my ability and we'll see what happens."

The results means that Scotland lie bottom of the group, but Levein said that his players are not feeling down and out just yet.

"The fight's not gone out of this team and I've got to commend them for that," he added. "The fans were behind the team and made a lot of noise. I would've loved to have got a result for them.

"In all honesty, [Belgium] were too good for us. We must look at a team like Belgium and aspire to be as good as them. They changed their youth set-up about 12 years ago."

Levein took charge of the national team in 2009.
