Report: Sevilla close in on Hatem Ben Arfa deal

A report claims that Sevilla are close to acquiring the services of French attacker Hatem Ben Arfa on a free transfer from Nice.

Sevilla are reportedly close to signing Nice midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa on a free transfer.

The French international scored 18 Ligue 1 goals for Nice during the 2015-16 campaign, but has not signed a new contract at his current club and will leave on a free next month.

In May, the former Newcastle United attacker claimed that "18 very interesting clubs" wanted to sign him for the new season and according to L'Equipe, Europa League winners Sevilla have won that race.

The 29-year-old, who has also been linked with a move to Barcelona, has represented Lyon, Marseille, Newcastle United, Hull City and latterly Nice during a well-travelled career.
