Sheffield United accept Hull City's Harry Maguire bid?

Premier League outfit Hull City see their offer for defender Harry Maguire accepted by Sheffield United.

League One side Sheffield United have "reluctantly accepted" an offer from Hull City for centre-back Harry Maguire.

Premier League Hull, as well as Wolverhampton Wanderers, are believed to have had numerous bids and approaches for the 21-year-old rebuffed by United.

However, it would now appear that the defender is on the verge of signing on at the KC Stadium.

"We made it clear that we wanted Harry to stay by offering him a new contract at the end of last season, [but] unfortunately he and his representatives chose a different path," United's managing director Mal Brannigan told the club's official website.

"However, as he is under contract at Bramall Lane, we exercised our right to set our own valuation of him and after numerous bids which did not meet our expectations, Hull City increased their offer and we have reluctantly accepted.

"As we have previously stated, Sheffield United are not under pressure to sell our players but on this occasion it was deemed the best for all parties and now we move on with the aim of assisting Nigel Clough to strengthen his squad."

It has been reported that Maguire will cost Hull around £2m.
