Half-Time Report: Watford lead Sheffield Wednesday by two goals

Sheffield Wednesday trail Watford 2-0 at half time in their Championship clash at Hillsborough.

Watford have taken a 2-0 lead into the half-time break of their game at Sheffield Wednesday this afternoon.

The away side took the lead in the fifth minute when Chris Kirkland could only push Lewis McGugan's header into the path of Gabriele Angella, who bundled the ball home from close range.

In the 22nd minute, Daniel Pudil skipped away from his man and picked out McGugan at the near post to make it 2-0.

Less than a minute later, Manuel Almunia made a low save to deny Benik Afobe and Wednesday continued to force a number of corners which the visitors looked uncomfortable dealing with, but Watford held on to take their two-goal lead into the break.
