Having slipped outside the top four with defeat at home to Bournemouth last weekend, Newcastle United make the long trip to Hampshire, as they take on Southampton in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
The Saints welcome the Magpies to St Mary's this weekend, desperately in need of points in their bid to avoid the drop from the top flight.
Some of the greatest players to play the game have represented both Southampton and Newcastle over the years – most notably, Newcastle's all-time leading goalscorer Alan Shearer started his professional career with the Saints, before moving on to Blackburn Rovers and then Newcastle in a glittering career.
Despite both these teams having spells in the Championship in recent memory, the two sides have often been in the same division as each other, so they know each other very well.

The visitors have dominated recent encounters against Southampton, winning 11 and losing just one of their last 15 matches in all competitions against the Saints.
The most recent meeting between the two sides was on the opening weekend of this season, when Eddie Howe's men won 1-0 at St. James' Park courtesy of a Joelinton strike - despite playing the bulk of the match with 10 men following Fabian Schar's dismissal in the first half.
Joelinton was also on the scoresheet the last time that Newcastle visited St Mary's, as the Brazilian secured a 1-0 win in Hampshire in the first leg of the League Cup semi-final in 2023.
That result was just over two months after the last league meeting at Southampton between these two sides, when a rampant Newcastle eased to a 4-1 victory, just a few days shy of Howe's one-year anniversary in charge of the club.
The hosts have not tasted success against the Magpies since November 2020, when Che Adams and Stuart Armstrong were on the scoresheet in a 2-0 success at St Mary's.
Since then, the visitors have enjoyed their encounters with the Hampshire outfit, as the only time that Southampton have prevented Newcastle from beating them in the years since, was a 2-2 draw between the two sides at St. James' Park in August 2021.
Callum Wilson put Steve Bruce's Newcastle ahead that day before Mohamed Elyounoussi equalised with 16 minutes remaining to set up a tense finish to the match.
Allan Saint-Maximin looked to have won it for the hosts when he put the Toon Army ahead in stoppage time, but James Ward-Prowse equalised from the penalty spot just minutes later to rescue a point for Southampton.
