Reading loan Billy Sharp

Southampton striker Billy Sharp joins Reading on an emergency loan deal.

Championship side Reading have completed the emergency loan signing of Southampton striker Billy Sharp.

Sharp is expected to go straight into the matchday squad for the Royals' home clash against Birmingham City.

It will be the third time Sharp has worked under current Reading manager Nigel Adkins, having played for him at both Scunthorpe United and Southampton.

"Reading Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of striker Billy Sharp from Southampton on an emergency loan," the club said in a statement.

Sharp has 140 goals in his career.
