Report: Southampton eye move for Pablo Armero

Southampton will move for Udinese defender Pablo Armero in a £5m deal to replace Luke Shaw, according to a report.

Southampton are eyeing a move for Udinese defender Pablo Armero to replace Luke Shaw at the club, according to a report.

New Saints boss Ronald Koeman has made the Colombia international his primary target for the position following his impressive World Cup campaign.

The 51-year-old is ready to spend £5m to land Armero from the Serie A side to begin his summer spending after the sales of Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert and Shaw have handed him a £70m budget, reports The Mirror.

Armero spent the second half of last season on loan at West Ham United, but he failed to break into Sam Allardyce's starting lineup.
