Southampton 'eyeing Jordy Clasie as potential Morgan Schneiderlin replacement'

Southampton manager Ronald Koeman is reportedly planning to table a bid for Jordy Clasie should Morgan Schneiderlin leave the club this summer.

Southampton have allegedly earmarked Feyenoord star Jordy Clasie as a potential replacement for Morgan Schneiderlin.

Saints manager Ronald Koeman is attempting to convince Schneiderlin to shun interest from elsewhere and remain at St Mary's, but is planning to raid his former club for Clasie if he is unsuccessful, The Mirror reports.

Meanwhile, Koeman is also said to be lining up an improved bid for Celtic goalkeeper Fraser Forster, but may have to admit defeat in his attempts to sign Aston Villa defender Ron Vlaar after his club issued a hands-off warning.

The Dutchman has been handed a £70m war chest for improving his squad, and has already added Graziano Pelle and Dusan Tadic to the Southampton ranks this summer.
